Lesandro Guzman-Feliz Autopsy Report

Medical examiner Dr. Sophia Rodriguez testified that the knife used to stab Junior went completely through his neck, causing him to bleed to death.

She presented graphic photos showing the fatal stab wound that left a large hole on one side of Junior’s neck and a puncture wound on the other side.

Dr. Rodriguez explained that the 4 1/2 inch deep knife cut through muscle, veins, and tissue as it traveled laterally across Junior’s neck, severing his jugular vein. This stab wound to the neck was determined to be the cause of death.

There were audible gasps in the courtroom as the brutal injury was detailed.

Dr. Rodriguez confirmed that if pressure had been applied and Junior brought to the nearby hospital sooner, he could have potentially survived.

But surveillance footage showed Junior attempting to run to the hospital while clutching his bleeding neck before he collapsed on the sidewalk and died.

In addition to the fatal neck wound, Junior suffered numerous other injuries over much of his body. He had wounds on his face, back, chest, legs, and hands.

The examiner testified that the wounds on Junior’s back and legs were consistent with being dragged across the ground.

His hands showed defensive injuries, likely caused by a knife, indicating Junior had put his hands up trying to shield his face.

Lesandro Guzman-Feliz: Cause Of Death

On June 20, 2018 at 11:30 pm, 15-year-old Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz left his Bronx apartment to meet a friend.

While out, he noticed some suspicious vehicles and started running, but was chased by gang members in those vehicles.

Junior tried to hide in a nearby bodega at 183rd Street and Bathgate Avenue, but the men caught up to him.

The bodega’s security footage and a bystander’s cell phone video captured Junior being viciously attacked by over a dozen males with knives and machetes, both inside and just outside the bodega.

Though the store owner initially tried to shelter Junior, he was seen and dragged back outside, where he was stabbed repeatedly.

Junior managed to escape briefly back inside the bodega but was sent back out, where the brutal assault continued.

The videos show Junior then stumbling one block over to St. Barnabas Hospital’s entrance before collapsing on the steps of the security booth just yards from the doors.

Witnesses tried consoling Junior in his last moments before he succumbed to his extensive injuries just minutes after the initial attack.

The traumatic event deeply impacted those who tried to help Junior, including the bodega owner, who struggled mentally and emotionally from witnessing Junior’s murder.

The graphic videos sparked public outrage over the senseless killing of an innocent 15-year-old boy.
