Kristen Stewart on Fiance Dylan Meyer and Robert Pattinson Questions
Kristen Stewart gave Rolling Stone a very wide-ranging interview—and a peek into her home life and future plans with fiancée Dylan Meyer.
Stewart briefly touched on her annoyance with being asked about her relationship with Twilight co-star and ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson over 10 years after their 2013 breakup. Both have moved on; Pattinson is currently expecting his first child with his partner, Suki Waterhouse.
“Rob and I can’t just keep talking about that shit, because it’s fucking weird,” Stewart said candidly. “It’s like if someone kept asking you—I mean for literally decades—‘But senior year in high school?’ You’re like, ‘Fucking A, man! I don’t know!’”
She was much happier to talk about her love story with Meyer and her hopes for their future together. In addition to being engaged, she and Meyer are creative partners professionally, and, according to Stewart, it actually works really well for them.

“I found the right person because I can be so obsessive about what I do,” she said. “And luckily my girlfriend, my partner, we are into the same shit. We have taken the things that we’re spending our time on and interlocked them, and we’re so much fucking smarter and stronger together. And you’re just like, ‘Fuck, that is the best.’”
Stewart revealed that she and Meyer met on the set of American Ultra, connected immediately, then lost touch due to other romantic relationships. “We were both so wrapped up in fucking other things, literally,” Stewart said.
They met again six years later. When Stewart asked why Meyer hadn’t kept in touch with her, Meyer revealed that she had emailed Stewart, who never responded.
“It was my fault, for sure,” Stewart said of the ghosting. “But then I very much made this [relationship] happen. I was intense, because I was just positive.”
Stewart addressed the state of her wedding plans with Meyer, who proposed to Stewart in 2021. Both are working on passion projects of theirs, and “we don’t have it in us to have a big wedding,” she said. “We’re probably just going to do it soon. We just are busy trying to make movies because they’re our babies.”
As for having an actual family someday, Stewart was candid about their plans: “I don’t know what my family’s going to look like, but there’s no fucking way that I don’t start acquiring kids. And also, ideally at some point soon I go, ‘I want to have a kid.’ I really want that to happen.”
Rolling Stone stated that she and Meyer “have started making preparations for how they might go about getting pregnant and discussed the possibility of carrying each other’s embryos.”
On the topic of carrying a child herself, Stewart said, “I’m not scared of being pregnant. I’m not scared of having a kid. But I’m so fucking scared of childbirth, it’s crazy. Have you ever been too on drugs where you’ve suddenly needed to be on your hands and knees? I hate that. I mean, I smoke a lot of weed—I obviously self-medicate—but I don’t like hard drugs. And I’ve tried—a lot. I just can’t deal.” Pregnancy is so “radical” to Stewart that she may be willing to do it eventually.
