Ex-Knick Ron Baker now cut by Wizards at NBA deadline
Ron Baker’s point-less time in Washington is over.
The Wizards waived Baker on Monday, according to ESPN, after the former Knicks guard played just four games without scoring a point in their uniform. His contract was set to be guaranteed for the rest of the year if he had still been on their roster by 5 p.m. Monday.
After signing him to a two-year, $8.9 million contract before last season, the Knicks cut Baker last month to make room for rookie Allonzo Trier, who earned his way out of a two-way deal and into a full roster spot with a new contract.
Baker’s latest release means he won’t get a shot to play against the Knicks in London where they face the Wizards on Jan. 17.
